Am I allowed to play poker online from SLC, Utah, USA?
I am from India and I used to play a lot of poker there.. Now working in US at Salt Lake City. I was told that its illegal to play ONLINE poker in USA and my friends staying with me are forcing me to not try poker from here as I might be traced and treated legally?
Is that true?
Cant I play poker online from Salt Lake?
If I can, what are the sites and am I completely safe to play there? Also, I just have a bank account in Wells Fargo and just a debit card.. What are the possible deposit methods?

As an online poker player located in the United States you are NOT violating the UIGEA or any other federal law, but you might be violating State or Tirbal law depending on the laws in the State or Native American Reservation where you are located. It is the your responsibility to determine the legality of playing online poker under the law where you are located.
So we are left with three options for funding our poker accounts. The first and easiest method is through a processor called Echecks. The last option available is through a money wire, some sites use Western Union while others use Money Gram, either way it is the same idea, all you do is get a name and location from the poker site that you wish to deposit to and go to your local Money Gram or Western Union and send the money to that name and location and your funds will be available shortly there after.
